Repurposing Armoires

If you’ve ever been to France or another European country and stayed in a lovely hotel, you may be surprised to find there are no closets!  You will surely find an armoire instead and that was the original use of it.  Recently, with space limited in apartments and smaller homes, the armoire of past decades have been redesigned to serve many purposes.  With an easily modified interior, it has served as a bar with mirrored back, glass shelving and interior lighting.  It also became more popular in bedrooms because it concealed a T.V. as well as provided good shelving storage and drawer space.  It has appeared in dining rooms for more storage, and family rooms, once again, to conceal the T.V.  When flat screen televisions took over the market place, the multifunctional armoire reverted to filling storage needs.  So here’s an original idea – why not use it as a closet?

This antique armoire is presently for sale in our Uniquely Natalie showroom has been re-purposed into a BAR!  The inside is all mirrored with glass shelving and lighting from above.  The bottom can be used for extra liquor or glassware storage
